Yes, I noticed this... and I agree with you... but the strange thing was that Bariatti is a rare lastname in Italy, you can find Bariatti in the Piedmont and Lombardia regions, in the north of Italy..

There are no Bariatti in the Calabria region (while there are lots of Baratta, Baratto..)
Do you know if they married in the U.S. or in Italy during a Joseph's trip?

Look at this August 15, 1915 arrival manifest for Cesira Bariatti (her name is crossed out, she didn't travel)
Cesira stated she was joining her husband Infusino Giuseppe in Racine WI and leaving in Italy (Arezzo - Tuscany region) her father Pietro...
It seems it was her first trip to the U.S. so maybe they got marriage in Italy?

I have two passport applications for Joseph Infusino, one for 1915, and one for 1919, I know on the first one that he is listed as a widow, I am not sure on the second one. They both were listed in the 1920 census, along with his children. I think she was listed as Tierssa or something close on the 1930 census. And I believe she was listed as a widow, and that the younger children of Joseph were living with her in the house that was listed on the 1920 census, I believe.

The family in Racine, WI still owns Infusino's Restaurant. They are Emile, Pasquale (Pat, who is always heard over the din!), and Gino Infusino. My Grandfather used to know their dad or grandfather and they, along with the other cronies would talk about the families and their parents, coming to America when they were just little boys, etc... ( I also frequent the restaurant whenever possible!)

Thank you, Wolff, Yes I know of Infusino's in Racine, That is where I am from originally. We are so distantly related. In working on my family tree I had a name of Teresa Infusino, who would be my great great grandmother. I started there and am working both forward and backward in time. I am trying to fill in death dates for those people, Joseph Infusino, his first wife Filomena Totero, and his father Michael. Michael came to America at some point. He died but I am not sure where or when. I have a large, large extended Italian family. Teresa Infusino had 17 children. So I have a long way to go.

I will see what I can 'dig' up. I believe you are correct in saying we are likely related somewhere along the line! I too come from a huge family: The Ricchio family is everywhere between Racine and Kenosha. Also related to Tenuta, Ruffalo, Aiello, Berardi, and Infusino etc.... the list never ends-haha.

Anyway, I will talk to my Grandmother and see what she may remember. They were such a tight-knit community back when neighbors actually spoke to each other and knew everyone!

I will let you know what I find out.

have you seen the image of the military record (Lista di Leva) on the italian site of the State Archive of Cosenza for Giuseppe Infusino?

I know the image isn''t too large but on the right hand on the document the written is:

"Abile, arruolato in 3a categoria come unico figlio di genitori viventi..."

it means:

"Able, enrolled in the third class being only child of living parents"

so, he didn't had brothers..

I loved Totero's!!!. I think they might be related as well. I am still fairly new at this. But in my great grandmother's photo album, she was an Aiello, and married a Ruffalo, there are photos of what I believe is Totero's restaurant. It has been years since I was in there, but it seems right. When I was little in about 1984 my Aunt Carm still lived on Mead St. This would be easier if I still lived in Racine, but I don't. Anything you could find out would be awesome.

My Aunt Asunta married George Ruffalo, they lived on Villa street (or was it Grand Ave.) by Holy Name Catholic Church!

Off the top of my head, I cannot remember the Aiello connection, but I will have to look it up. So, it looks like we are most certainly related - and we shall endeavor to find out how.

I do still live in Racine (for about another 6 months anyway. My husband is rejoining the Army again, this time as an Officer, so home will be where the Army sends us in June).

I will see what I can do.

My Grandma is Carm Borel (Infusino)Her daughter Mary Ann is my mother. I grew up spending every Christmas at my great grandparent's (Emil and Mary) house on the third floor of their flat on Mead St. Fond memories of my grandpa Infusino sitting in his leather recliner with me on his lap singing an ol' Italian song that went something like sho sho sho " " " go" can't remember the middle words. I miss my grandma Carm and all her brothers (my great uncles/aunts) and sisters Henry,John,George, Mike, Loui, Rosie, and my Aunt Helen who is still living in Racine who my mom visits frequently.Hope you know this family.

I teach 6th grade and we are creating family trees so any help would be appreciated.

I have been working on my family tree for several years and I have both Presta ( Your great grandmother's family, and Infusino's back several generations. Like to 1810.

I would be happy to share all the information that I have. Do you live in Racine? What school do you teach at?

Thanks Nikki. I moved from Racine 12 yrs ago but all my family still lives there.I teach in the Westfield School Dist. at an elementary school called Coloma.
