name of groom's mother?

Post by CowryShells »

I'd appreciate your help with this mystery. On these marriage banns, I am having trouble reading the name of the groom's mother (circled in red).
So far, I understand: Arcangela C____

For reference, the bride's mother's name is a couple lines just below:
Angela Maria Carella

Here is the corresponding document, which should have the identical names, first the groom's mother Arcangela C____ and below, the bride's mother:
Angela Maria Carella, both circled in red. (I had to piece the second name together, because the document was too wide.)

The groom's mother should have the same name in each document, but they don't seem to be the same.
Thank you for your help!

Here are the whole documents, in case they are needed:

Thank you very much Lucap and Misbris!

Cursio fits what was written in the shorter document and Cunio fits what was written in the longer document. I will have to do some more digging to find out which name really belongs to the groom's mother. You both have clarified the problem for me. Thanks again for your help!

I would say Cursio. It fits both documents.
