DIGLIO

Post by Daniellabella21 »

I am looking for some information on the name Diglio. I have no idea where it originates from or what it means and was wondering if there is anywhere I can go to find some information on it. I know it's not too common, so I've been coming up empty-handed. TIA.

DIGLIO a variation of the base surname GIGLI and is found thruout Italy. The surbnames Giglia and De Giglio and two others are found almost entirely in the South of Italy. The surname from the word Giglio meaning Lily and Fleur-de-lis is both a sybol for candor and purity. The name is often cross referenced with GILIO and ZILIO. Peter

Hi Danielle,

Not sure if this helps but I know of the spelling DIGILIO?? If this is possibly a variation then you may want to try a search in the village of Accettura, Matera as this spelling of surname originated from there.

Good luck
