Marriage Certificate

Post by jamiecapaldi »

Hello, I have the names, date and place of my gggrandparents marriage in Italy.
I have searched the LDS Microfilm, but had no luck.
Does anyone know how or where else i could look to get the marriage certificate?

Thanks, Jamie

Giuseppe Capaldi
Marianna (maybe Maria Anna) Tedesco
1894 in Cassino, Frosinone.

I know Giuseppe's brother moved back to Italy from UK, and went to San Michele, Cassino, so it might be a Church around that area?

Thanks Riccardo,

Jamie

Now I understand why you find nothing.
Cassino area was badly bombed during WWII, so many many civil and parish records were destroyed,
I hope it helps

well, you never know, try to write to Cassino civil record office, and the the main parish of Cassino, write only in italian, and lets see what happens

civil record office of Cassino

Comune
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Piazza De Gasperi
CAP 03043
Cassino (FR)
Italy

Cassino parish (put a 10 dollar bill as donation for the priest)

Parrocchia S. Maria Della Valle
Strada Selvone, 25
03043 Cassino (FR)
Italy

I hope it helps, good luck
for your research

I have just worked out their marriage in 1894 was a civil marriage, and i believe they held a Church Wedding in 1885.
I am now looking for information on their Church Wedding in 1885.
Any help would be appreciated!

My sister got my great-grandparents marriage record at the records office at the Province Records office of Campania, not in the town. I have not seen any of these records recorded by LDS. The best chance is to contact them, if the local towns records have been destroyed by bombings. Good Luck!

I am sorry, I meant to say I have not seen records at the province level filmed by the FHC, just the towns. Also, check to make sure the town is still in the same province it was when your grandfather was born. A lot of the towns changed provinces after the 1st and 2nd world wars.
