IRELAND CENSUS 1901
Searching for my great x3 grandfather Raffaele CIACCIA, also known as Raphael/Ralph CHURCH. He was born in Napoli around 1792 and arrived in London before 1812 with his brother Saverio CIACCIA, where they married sisters Ann and Jane FURNEAUX. He switched between CHURCH and CIACCIA all his life, which has made it difficult enough to pin him down. I want to find his origin in Italy.

Thank you for posting this. I have been so busy with Italian research I had put my own on hold. Now I have found my Grandfather's Uncle who was left with relatives in Ireland when his father remarried in England.
I hope to now be able to trace his living descendants.

It doesn't appear to be complete though: my husband comes from a farming village and many of his neighbours have had the same farms for hundreds of years, but I cannot find them in the census.

A number of townlands/streets do not appear in the online census for 1091 and 1911, mostly due to their never having been microfilmed, and thus never digitised. This is being remedied, and the missing material will be placed online as soon as possible. A list of the missing material will shortly appear on this page.

If you haven't done so already, try the "Browse By Place" tool ( http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/ ). The records may be mis-transcribed; even for the US, this is often the only way to find census records for a particular family.Future plans
