I have many problems... :)

In this case it's one of time. It took me 6 months to get my German records. Although I know a fair bit about searching US records, It was a learning process for the German request, and has been one for the Italian.

I now have much less time that I can devote to this, and would love to find a reputable agency to help.

I still want to learn as much as I can, but at the rate I can go now, I fear it will take me much longer.

Just to add... It's taken me a couple months to learn what I know, and I am still trying to find the following:

* To what address can I send a request for a stato di servicio? I found a list once, but could find no listing with anything that looked correct (avellino?). I still need to figure out the province/region/city details.

Eric...
p.s. I found a nice website from the town where my great grandfather was born... http://www.comune.cairano.av.it/
Didn't expect a flash-enabled site! But I can't read it, and the english button doesn't work.

If you are seeking documentation wiriting to cairano arfchives is one way to go and the other is to go to the nearfest family history library of the mormon church and rent out the civil records for Cairanom,Provincia Avellino for about $3.00 and trace the family from 1809 to 1910. If you wish to write for documents in Italian then go to www.circolocalabrese.orrg for forms and send the letters to Ufficio di Stato Civile, Comune di cairano, Postale 83040, provincia Avellino, Campania region, Italy. You m,ight want to include sometal coupons or some money but the service is free if not low on their priotiy end of day activities. When wiritng for documents you need full names and at least an approximate year or years of birth. Peter

Thanks very much!

I will do all of the above. I went to the Mormon church, but the people there didn't end up knowing enough to help me.

I read online how to order the films, and view them at the local church.

I'll send the form letters.

Thanks again!

I have full time work available for a researcher. He must be able to read the old stuff, veneto dialect and latin.
I have the parish records on CD
Most parishes take about 3 months. I am extracting out the entire parishes and making them available to anyone with ancestors from that area

*sigh* You are such a rude man Peter. Always thinking the worst of people. 3/4 of all your comments are insults. A genealogy forum is supposed to be a pleasant place, where people post to make connections and help each other out. Many of us with far more experience than you have would gladly do just that. I have seen some of your replies to forum inquiries. You do not belong here, it is no wonder you have been banned in the past.

I was wondering if anyone could direct me as to how one can go about obtaining a marriage license from Yonkers New York. I have the names of the bride Rosina Vannelli and Francesco Straguzzi, however, I only know that they married in 1906/07. My gram would have been 14 at time of her first marriage.

Do they look for entire year? And where would I direct the correspondence?

Go to www.vitalrec.com and then select NY state and then select westchester county where Yonkers, NY is located and then send in a request. Peter

Is this professional help restricted to Italian ancestry?

HEY! I just found out I'm a Daughter of the American Revolution, how cool is that! OK, yeah I know, NOTHING to do with my Italian roots, but its the small victory that always makes my day.

Yes yes, lets not forget right?

While I could say I had NO time, that would be a lie, I just think spending time with my beautiful princess toddler is less of a complication than genealogy. So if someone would like to send me info on how to get professional (reliable) help (no not therapy) pm me.
