Hello Soldi,

My great grandfather was Pasquale DeFillippo who lived in came here started in the North End of Boston (Foster St) and later moved to Everett. I know my grandmother was born in Ciano. Do you know if Antonio had a relative Pasquale?

Regards, Stranieri

You seem to have a very similar genealogy as my DiNuccio/DeFilippo family. My great grandparents were Gaetano DeFilippo (died in 1940) and great grandmother Maria DiNuccio (died in 1926). Both seem to have originated in Bellona, Italy. Do you think we have some branch of a connection?

Hello,

I am not sure. My great grandfather was the first DeFillippo from our line here in America. He was from Ciano so could be another branch of DeFillippos.

You mentioned that the DeFilippo family settled in Everett, Mass. So did mine. Is it worth investigating or not?

I also have Denucci from Bellona in my family that settled in the Boston suburbs. It's not a very common name here but apparently very common in Italy. :D

Maybe there is some relation. I believe that our original name was spelled DeNucci as you have written. What Boston suburb did your family settle? Do you have any relations still in Belona?

They settled in Newton. I don't know if any are still in Bellona. Actually, I know that the wife/mother of this family was born in Bellona. Her maiden name was Marfongelli, but she married Alessandro DeNucci I believe before he emigrated. I'm not sure if that's where they lived when they left Italy as I haven't found ship manifests from 1897.

My family always said we were related to Joe DeNucci who lived in Newton, Mass. He was supposedly my father's cousin. Is this the DeNucci family you are referrig to?
