My Sacco family is also from Calabria. I'm looking for the exact place they came from.
Giuseppe Sacco, Paschoal Sacco, Giovanna Valota Sacco, are ome of the names I have.

First SACCO is very common in Sicily and tghe rest of Italy. Go to www.gens.labo.net/en/cognomi and put Sacco in upper left and click arrow .
The Surname Sacco is listed in the Italian surname dictionary and dates back to the Hebrew name Issac which is more root for the surname in Greek and latgin. The base surname in Italy is Sacchi s with various other variants, allterations and derivations which includes your SACCO. The surname SACCHI started out as a nickname or maker and sellers of jute sacks, transporter of and deverything elsde connectged with storing products in sacks. Rosa Sacco was my Grandmother Married to Pucci. Settled in Wellsville Ohio.
