I have also been trying to find information regarding my paternal grandparents -- my grandmother's maiden name was Rosa Sacco. Both were from Calabria, however. Good luck in your search. If you happen to find any information that you think might be helpful to me, would you mind sharing? Thanks, and good luck!!

First SACCO is very common in Sicily and tghe rest of Italy. Go to www.gens.labo.net/en/cognomi and put Sacco in upper left and click arrow .

The Surname Sacco is listed in the Italian surname dictionary and dates back to the Hebrew name Issac which is more root for the surname in Greek and latgin. The base surname in Italy is Sacchi s with various other variants, allterations and derivations which includes your SACCO.
