List of Italian soldiers killed in WW II

Post by Sal »

The link below is to an 852 page pdf file listing Italians killed or missing in World War II. It is in alphabetical order by name and can be searched. Probably not all inclusive, but it is a start if anyone is looking for a relative possibly killed during World War II.

This could prove very useful.

There is a website with a search engine which covers all Italians killed in war (any war) at http://www.difesa.it/Ministro/Commissar ... olture.htm however you must enter a surname (cannot search only by town, for example), and you have to hope that the name was indexed correctly.

The links above are not working. How can I find an uncle: Antonio Periotto. I believe he was born in Guarda Veneta, Rovigo, Italy somewhere between 1923 – 1927. Supposedly he died during the war.

My uncle, Antonio Periotto, son of Domenico Periotto and Margherita Forlani... I cannot find him. I've gone through these links and he's not listed. The story is that he died in the war. He would have been in his 20 during WWII

That seems like it may be my uncle, mmogno. How did you find him? I am really amazed at how each of you make it look so easy!

I haven't received a notification from italiangenealogy.com, so I JUST saw this! Thank you! Its amazing to me!

Is it possible to request additional information from the Ministry of Defense to verify that this is our uncle and maybe obtain additional information?
