French Death Certificate

Post by kangaroo_ch »

Hello,
How do i go about to obtain a death certificate in France of my great great grandmother. Her name was Marie Louise Girot (d) she was born on the 15. Dez 1864 in Noiron sur Seine, Burgundy, Cote D'Or. She got married in the same town in 1884 to Placido Giovanni Martino Dacomo.
Do i write to the Comune or a regional office in France? Would someone have a formletter which i could use because my French is not very good.

Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Anton

Hello,

Thank you for all the information. I shall add it to my family tree. I now know the maiden name of my great great grandmother (Piralla). Just another line to research. I have written to the Maire of Noiron-sur-Seine in order to obtain a death certificate of Marie-Louise Girot. The online records from the French archives only go to 1902.

Kind Regards
Anton :D
