Carmine,

I found that site earlier today and used Google translation in order to read the page. I emailed that person but got a failed email report.

So it appears that I found the right site but perhaps that person is no longer there. Do you think I should try one of the other contact names on the site? Or do you have another suggestion?

Thanx for your help. Grazie,
TC.

This one is for a general administration office. I sent a test email which did not bounce; in such a small comune, everyone is probably working in the same office anyway. :)

Carmine,

I sent an email request for info on Thursday to the address you suggested and it went through. Should I have sent the email in Italian or will Engllish suffice.

Thank you for your help.
Grazie,
TC.

You should have written the email in Italian and not in English. You can't assume that there are clerks working in the municipal offices who know English.

Thanks for your input. I will retransmit in Italian.

Do you think email is ok or should I be sending a letter instead?

Is there normally a charge for the information?

Grazie,
TC.

If you are just searching for dates, you could email for the information. If you don't have specific dates, then give an estimate of the years. If you give no more than a five year range, I have found that you can get a response. If you give a wide range of years, you may not get an answer.

I have never requested record copies via email, so I don't know how the towns will react to that.

If you send a letter via mail, send a self addressed, but not stamped envelope. There should not be a charge for the copies, but only request 1 or 2 things at a time.
