New Jersey Amending Parent's Marriage Certificate

Post by ande »

Hi All,
I did get through to someone at the state vital statistics and she said they may be able to amend my parents marriage cerificate if I have both death certificates. ( I'm not sure she was very sure of this however) My question is; would I have a better chance of having them do it if my birth certificate is corrected first showing the correct maiden name for my mother? I could wait until that gets done then I'd have three documents with her maiden name correct. Her birth certificate, her death certificate and my birth certificate.

Sure, first correct her maiden last name, and then amend all the certificates with her right last name on them
