Looking for info on Angelo & Mary Guarino possibly from

Angelo and Mary Guarino (possible maiden name Cemito) are my great grandparents. They were born around 1855 and were married about 1883 in I believe Alia. They had a son Dominick while in Italy. Around 1888 to 1890, Angelo went to New Orleans, Louisiana and she followed soon after. While in New Orleans they had: Mary, Rose, Santo, Salvador and Josephine. The men married and stayed in the New Orleans area and the women married and ended up in California. One daughter, Mary, married Nick DiSalvo also possibly from Alia.

Does anyone have any information on my branch of Guarino's from Alia? Or, where should I begin looking to find where my family came from? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I do have this death certificate for Dominick. It states his father was Angelo Guarino from Alia, Italy. The informant did not know his mother Mary's maiden name. I believe this is my Dominick. Mary died the year before. I can't find any info on Angelo after the 1930 Census.

I have a Naturalization Declaration Petition number for an Angelo Guarino that may be mine but I'm not sure what to do with this.

I don't know when Angelo died or where he is buried. I have a possible burial site for Mary and Dominick Guarino...

Has anyone heard of the Societa It. di M.B. Fiume Italiana? It's an Italian Tomb and there is a Mrs. Maria Guarino with her correct death date and D Guarino with Dominick's death date on the list of those buried in the Society Tomb. But Angelo is not on the list.

I hired a researcher from ancestry.com and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I have some good information but am now forced to try to find the answers to my questions on my own.

Any direction is greatly appreciated!

Yes, on the right track. Josephine is the youngest and still at home with Angelo and Mary and son Salvadore and his wife Lillian Antoinette Conrad are next to them on the Census.

I know that Salvadore and Lillian's son Angelo Henry Guarino attended my grandmother's funeral. BUT cannot find records on Salvadore. (marriage, death, etc)

Sadly, the information I have from census records etc., don't give clear answers. I know when they came to America, when they married in Italy, about when they were born. Based on a couple documents, I think they were from Alia but can find little information other than that.

I'd like to learn about them in Italy and see who they are connected to in Italy or Louisiana.

beginning with the research of Damiano Guarino (Dominick) birth act on around 1886 .... Having the correct names and maiden name of his parents you can search for their marriage act...
