Passarella

Post by jessahip »

Hi,
I am looking for information on a Sam Passarella who married a Marsicovetere or Marsicovete (the spelling has changed). They would have came over from Italy and resided in NYC.

I found Sam Passarella in the 1930 census and he was married to a Mammie Passarella this was his second wife and the following children were: Mary,Helen, Francis, John, Mammie, Sam, Ralph, Dermott, Charles, Josephine.

So if anyone has any information on these people please let me know.

Thank you!

Jess

Ramunno Carmela Feb 4 1906 Kings certificate# 1323

Passarella Saverio Feb 4 1906 Kings certificate # 1323

This could be his second marriage to Mammie-which could be a nickname for Carmela

Is there anyway to see if he was married before Mammie? Or to find out if Ralph has any children?

If you order the NYC marriage record, it should say on it if it was his first marriage or second marriage.

I would post on a message board, if you are trying to locate Ralph's descendants. Or you might make contact with a descendant through something like facebook.

On the 1920 census, I see the surname is misspelled as Passorella. Maybe someone can retrieve for you a copy off of ancestry.com for Kings County, Brooklyn, NY. Sam was born about 1890 according to ancestry.

Sam Passorella name city, Kings, New York abt 1890

Thanks, Valarie.

The family search beta site has an error on it. The person they list as a parent, who appears on the next census page, is connected to another family.

I see a WWII draft registration card for a Saverio (Sam) Passarella living at 1092 Hegeman Ave in Brooklyn. This card, if it is him, shows his wife's name as Mae, his date of birth as Oct 21, 1885 (the 1920 census had his birth at 1890), shows his birthplace as Brooklyn, NY, and him owing a grocery store at the same address.

Can someone please upload this card to the forum, or you can view it on the familysearch beta website.
