Your favourite little translation website doesn't seem to think so... it doesn't even recognise your last phrase.
A balance of caution and risk is necessary for a true life. Too much of one can lead to a long, dull existence - too much of the other can lead to a short pointless existence. Moderation in all things - a full and fully-experienced life. :)

... and vengence is mine..

James, I see that Peter made an attempt at an 'off color' joke that was not taken lightly and gave everyone gumption to jump and be seen as protectors of the universe. I'm not a politically correct person, but I can still see this as just a bad joke. Had someone more liked made a bad joke would this have happened? who knows..? I can't defend Peter. No way. He's got his own jumping skills when it comes to frying pan and fire; thats his perrogative. I can't say who belongs here and who doesn't. I have NO, NILL genealogy skills... currently I'm more facinated with my bills and figuring up taxes this year with my CPA. This is JUST a forum.

It takes all types to make the world go round, and if you had no one to loath and protect people against then you may feel like you've lost your calling.. - this is a stupid joke.. see.. Although I may see what was said as bad form, personally (if I knew ANYTHING about genealogy) I'd simply step in and correct it on the forum. Say, hey, that comment sucked, but here is some info for you. Really this just gives Peter attention... :P

This should be a fun experience, yes. It can be a rather difficult process, and so far not many of you make allowances for just different tolerances. I don't care if he is offensive because I can ignore it, and if I knew anything about what was being said... I'd step in. Thats all there is to it.

Anyone getting on the internet in a social setting like this, plunging into something new can be skittish yes, but giving someone the power to drive you away is just frightening. This is a personal thing though, and I've never assumed to speak for a crowd.

Thank you for your opbservations and comments. it was very forthright and understanding. I still maintain that referring people to a process of aging (Menopause) is at the least clinical and objective and from my part of the world viewed as being humnorous. No one was identified, no one was singled out and applied to both genders.

Frankly this matter is a clever misunderstanding of a common word heard on television daily and applicable to women and men so I can only react with disdain for the assault on my character and making it a cause Celebre for the neer do wells that populate the forum.

I am truly amazed that the qualtiy of persons who come to the forum seeking genalogy assistance has apparently deteriorated over the years since I was second to join this forum before it was established in the current format in July 2002. it was already in existence way back in 1999 when I firsty jopined and I have never experienced such a decline in the quality of the people who while technically proficient are in many ways common.

Why should people stay here and post when an insulting ogre seems to find pleasure in putting them down? Yet again you can't stop with the insults. Making references to the posters here as of inferior quality is just too much. I suppose you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and it is obvious the last three years you have spent here have not enriched your genealogical skills.

Blessed is the man who, having nothing to say, abstains from giving us wordy evidence of the fact.

MACD.....

You can only search from what you know as absolute fact then work backwards. That said, compile what you know about the families in question and then start looking for other records.

What is the name of the first immigrant ancestor?
What state did they live in...do you have the census data?
Do you have death, marriage records?
Have you checked for an obituary?
Do you have cemetery records?
HAVE YOU SPOKEN TO OTHER RELATIVES?...this is the most important of all because it may give facts you are not aware of.
Remember, particulaly with immigrant names...often they were spelled by how they sounded...not by how they were actually spelled. So there are errors in spelling. At Ellis Island, there are also errors of transciption. Hard to sometimes read the script of the times and letters get mixed up...so it takes a little massaging of the info sometime, to get to the actual records.

We can help if you:
1. give the first and last name and approximate dates they lived.
2. If in US, what state, city they lived in.
3. Name of spouse, children...in order of birth if possible...

We can then check the census, get a date of immigration, and then attempt to find them at Ellis Island or before.

Let us know and we shall see what we can find.

^Thanks
I have been compiling info - I found out how some names were spelled before immigrating - the big thing is where they immigrated from - I am waiting for my grandfather to remember

If you provide the forum with the name of the immigrant
ancestor, first and last, someone may be able to locate them on a
ship manifest or in a census......possibly turning up the town
of origin....
