What sort of information?

Can you give us an approximate year of birth and where he lived in the US?

The Carmine Di Vincenzo on this manifest (line #10) sailed from Antwerp, Belgium to New York at age 23 in 1901. He lists Rionero as his last residence, a comune in Molise. He was going to meet his brother-in-law, Serafino Ferrillo (?) in Cleveland, OH.

Sounds like it could be him or a close relative - He was born around 1855 so that would not quite work. His full name was Carmine Antonio DiVincenzo and he lived in rural Ohio but had relatives in Cleveland.

He was married to a Giacondina Michele (born 1876) (I don't know from where-possibly Naples).

They moved to America with a son named Marion from his prior marriage and a daughter together named Celester.

Thanks for the info!

Oh, I forgot, I am trying to get more information such as who were his parents and brothers and sisters as well as my great grandmother's origins. All of their children have passed and there is no one here to ask.

See line 8 on this manifest. He was 33 years old in 1891, thus born about 1858. Unfortunately, these early manifests have very little useful information on them, making it very difficult to determine if this is your ancestor.

Possible 1920 census. If accurate, then Carmine was born in 1856, arrived in the US in 1881 and naturalized in 1887.

Here is an 1881 manifest (matches 1920 census) except age for Carmine is given as 31 making the birth year 1850. Any one of these documents may contain errors or simply be the wrong person.

He is about a dozen lines from the bottom.

These census reports are great! That is him and those are his children. see my grandmother's name on the list. It doesn't tell me anything I didn't know, but it's very cool.

Assuming the 1920 census is correct in saying his arrival was in 1881, the 1881 manifest puts his residence at (corrected spelling) the comune of Rionero Sannitico which is in the province of Isernia in the Molise region.

So, all in all, I would say there is a good chance that Carmine was born in Rionero Sannitico in the year 1855/1856 or possibly as early as 1850.

Since he apparently naturalized in 1897, he would have probably done so in a county court in Belmont, Ohio. I suggest you try contacting the county court to ask about the availability of naturalization documents:

Belmont County Courthouse
101 Main St.
St. Clairsville 43950-1224
(740) 695-2121
