Is there any where I can find out where my ancestor Marie Bayer (born 1878 in Austria) married to Dr. Carlo Ofenheimer (born 1870 in Triest) is buried in Triest. Also her husband. Help is much appreciated.

interesting- just found a Giovanna Ofenheimer buried in Vienna. the firstname in any case italian, so she possible was related....

think it doesnot exist longer as the right for the grave ended 1956. but you can ask at the general cemetery-administration if there any info for her, possible if she was from Trieste or so.

i have no idea if this is the same family, but in austrian Carinthia at the place Millstatt on the samenamed lake i found in the history about a couple Ofenheimer from Vienna written. he was an italian merchant for woods and the husband built 1880 a villa in Carinthia. the Villa now: http://www.villa-margarethe.at/
his wife most time was then in Carinthia. her husband often traveled because of work and was also often in Vienna. later the husband said he has money-problems and so he sold the house. then both had also problems and she made at Vienna the divorcing. her ex-husband gave her then half of the money they got for the house in Millstatt and she stayed again in Carinthia. she met then in next summer Lobmeier who was an older widower and owned a glass-business. both built then the Villa Carina in Millstatt. the Villa now at this site: http://www.malereiholzer.at/049de29c860 ... index.html
it is not stated if they always stayed at this place and what happened to her ex-husband Ofenheimer. Vienna gravesearch has also 3 Lobmeier:

possible this stated Ofenheimer were relatives to the Trieste-Ofenheimer.

"Ein Ehepaar Ofenheimer aus Wien baute sich im Osten des Marktes oberhalb der Klotzlende 1880 eine große Villa – die gegenwärtige Villa Margarethe der Familie Piechl-Senigl. Hier führte Frau Ofenheimer einen sehr komfortablen Haushalt, während ihr Gemahl als italienischer Holzhändler en gros fast immer auf Geschäftsreisen war und oft in Wien weilte. Als Herr Ofenheimer wieder einmal von einer Geschäftsreise nach Millstatt zurückkehrte, eröffnete er seiner Frau, er hätte größere geschäftliche Verluste gehabt und müsse deshalb die schöne Villa in Millstatt verkaufen – Dr. Oskar von Luschan wurde der neue Besitzer dieser Villa.
Wegen Unstimmigkeiten in der Ehe ließ sich Frau Ofenheimer in Wien von ihrem Mann scheiden und dieser überließ ihr die Hälfte des Erlöses für die Millstätter Villa. Frau Ofenheimer blieb nun weiterhin in Millstatt und lernte hier im folgenden Sommer den Wiener Glasfabrikanten Lobmeier, einen älteren Witwer, kennen. Gemeinsam bauten sie die wunderschöne und sehr komfortable Villa „Carina“ inmitten eines großen Gartens zwischen Riegenbach und Schwarzstraße und boten 19 Fremdenzimmer den Gästen an. Diese Villa wechselte später mehrmals den Besitzer und gehört heute der Familie Koch."

I found the information about the family in Milstatt some time ago but unfortunately it is not the same family. Thanks for searching though. I will contact the cemetry authorities in Vienna about Giovanna, even if the rights to the grave have ceased, they will still have information. The link to the diocese in Trieste is a super link, I will contact them, too. Thank you very much for your help.

for Giovanna you also can take the online-formular for historical registry.dates 1904-1975 in Vienna. it´s only in german and normally you need birthdate, but maybe they can find also all her registrydates with only the burialdate (if cemetery would also not have birthdate). make attempt, but ask in short words. maybe there some infos more for finding out if she belonges to the Triester Ofenheimer.
