did you try to find out thru ellis island records if he was ever in the USA as an immigrant . The more you tell me the more I can help! You need to know the province because thats where his military records are located. Peter

I jusat happened to notice that you are in Australia. It was on the margin under author??????????Obviously he was never in the USA and most likely Australia. Can you tell me anything? Peter

My grandfather served in the Italian army. He came to American thru Ellis Island at age 27 in 1921, so I assume he served just befor that time. He came to American from Trapani, Sicily. Can I get his records? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 You can write to Archivio Di Stato di Trapani, Archivio Militare Provinciale,Via Liberta 31, Postale 91100, Trapani, Sicily, Italy. Y=ou can request for conscription records..(REGISTRO DI LEVA) and provide all vital information and also contain discharge records (foglio di congedo illimitato), Military records are being microfilmed by the Mormon Family History Library but may not be complete as of this time. When writing please write in Italian and enclose a self addressed envelope. You may wish to inquire of the Family History Libreary if they have a form letter in Italian for military documents requests. Peter
