1905 NY Census - Can't find Brooklyn address on AD/ED

Post by venamb »

Hi,
I am looking for an address in Brooklyn in the 1905 NY Census:

274 E New York Avenue

On one map plate in a Brooklyn Atlas its listed as Lincoln Road and another year its listed as E New York Avenue.
My g grandparents should have lived there.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mary Beth

Hello and welcome to this forum-

on the following website, there are several ways you can search the 1905 census for Brooklyn-

www.stevemorse.org

go down to where it says-

New York Census
NY Census AD/ED Finder: Obtaining AD/ED for the 1890-1925 NY State Census in One Step
Viewing the 1905 Census Images: Viewing the Images for the 1905 New York Census in One Step
Searching by Name in the 1905 Census: Searching the 1905 Census by Name in One Step

you can find the AD/ED numbers by putting in East New York Avenue

Then you can use the second option and browse the images page by page

or you can use the third option and search by name

Using the first option, you get the following AD/ED numbers for New York Avenue-
18/8. 18/18, 18/30,21/11, 21/12, 21/13, 21/17

using the third option-there are many ways to search by name, as you will see, once you click on this option

Hi,
I went through the AD/ED's you listed and couldn't find the address.
There were a few pages that I wasn't able to pull up because an error was detected. So perhaps it was on one of those sheets. I will just have to let it go. Again, thanks for your help.
