The groom was born in Mugnano del Cardinale but his last residence was in Quadrelle. These two comuni are less than one kilometer from each other and the surname Napolitano is the most common in each. I am surprised that the pubblicazioni was posted in the town of his last residence rather than that of his birth. I would have thought that it would be posted in his town of birth.

The aim of the publicazioni is to verify that nobody has to say anything against the marriage hence they are posted in the last place of residence where the groom may have had another fiancée...

Hi Livio - Yes, that does make sense. Yet he could just as easily have had a similar obligation in his town of birth, i.e., an arranged marriage.
