Hello everyone,
I'm having trouble trying to add an attachment. I keep coming up with an upload error. Can anyone tell me how to add an attachment to a message? I have done them in emails so I don't know what the problem is this time.
thanks, Bella

just noticed this now!

Please private me the info (type of file and size) and promise to get back to you this evening (Friday)...

If it's too large of a file, I can certainly reduce it through Photoshop etc...

Look forward to hearing from you...

Thanks Wldspirit. :P

Just had a crazzzzzy last few days...

Hello everyone,
MFJP was very kind in posting Antonio's registry of birth for me in 2 different sizes. What I can make out is :
Date of birth: September 15,1875
Born in Sezze part of Roma
father: Gaetano Amici
one lady not married, not relative
witnessess:Gustavo Pesserini son of Nicholas
If anyone can better translate this or make a transcript for me I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you,
Bella

Any transcribers willing to lend a hand? :P :P

http://img92.echo.cx/img92/9716/antonio9fj.jpg

I haven't seen this notation before... nor have I seen a birth record written up like this one too...

"da una donna non maritata, NE parente..."

"da una donna non maritata, nè parente..."

My understanding is NE without the accent means "of"

Nè means "not of" or "neither"

I do see the "flying" accent under the the home address... but now it has me wondering.

I'm still trying here to look up a few things, but this is quick translation, so don't quote me word for word. When I have more time, I'll try to do a better translation.

Trish

In the year one thousand eight hundred seventy-five, day sixteen, of September, at the hour ante-meridian nine and minute eleven, in the Town House.

Before me Mercuri Giuseppe, Delegated Assistant functioning for the Mayor, of the title prevented and of the Official of Vital Records of the Town of Sezze Roma, appeared Amici Gaetano, of age thirty-four, residing in Sezze, who has introduced at the hour ante-meridian eleven and minute fifty-three, of day fifteen, of the same as above month, in the house on Via Vittorio Emanuele at number forty-two, and from one woman not married, neither relative, of matter/affair in the degrees to orphan with no recognition

and born a baby of male sex which he has presented and has given the name of Antonio

To this action which witnesses have been present, Gustavo (?) Rugeriri, of Nicola, of age twenty-two, and Cima Gregerio, of the late Giuseppe, of age twenty-six, both residing in this Town. We therefore have formed the present act, which has been read to the informant but not signed since he does not know how to write.

brujaojos,
thank you so much!! It's so nice to know what this says. I have one question...what do you think the information about his mother means? Do you think he was just born out of wedlock or do you think his father might have been married to someone else at the time?
Thank you for the translation again!!

Dear Mary,

It's tough to say exactly what it all means. I know of many stories of abandon babies. This is the story a family told me in which I found out through research was true. This man who was married (found marriage act to verify his marriage) and apparently had an affair. The woman got pregnant and since he was married, the woman left the baby on the door-step in order to shame the family. The Birth Act of the child had all kinds of notations on it about the baby.

So there is a chance your story is kind of the same. No one will ever know for sure.
