I just found out my great aunts husbands name of Ricci. I know in the 20's & 30's he owned a cow farm in Secaucus, NJ.

His name is Antonio Ricci, married to Anna Vernaglio. I cannot seem to find out on anything on this part of family.

Anna was born 9-1906 in No. Bergen, NJ. He according to family was born same year.

any ideas??

Have you looked for a marriage license at the NJ state archives?

What about looking for a property deed in the county records. Would confirm he owned property and when it was bought and sold.

Can I obtain a property deed or land info with just name and kind of farm he owned? I did look at census reports, cannot locate him ofr 1920 or 1930 in NJ. I know they were around in 1921 as my he and Anna are my aunts god parents, the church confirmed off thier regiesters for bap[tisms.
Found out alot info they way also.

HI Ally,

Most of my research has been in Mercer County, NJ. There all towns in that county have their deeds filed in the county courthouse, which is in Trenton, NJ. I believe other counties operate the same way, but a call to the county courthouse would confirm this to make sure a large city dosen't have its own records.

Counties have indexes to search the deeds. Grantor (seller) and Grantee (purchaser). YOu have to check with the individual county to see how their indexes work, but for legal reasons (to obtain a clear title) they have to be able to search for previous owners.
