Trying to get some information.

My name is Albert Balducci. My fathers name was Giuseppe Balducci. He was born in Fabrizia Calabria on 22/08/1916. All his siblings had a family name of Santoro. No one new why he had a different family name, and all we were told was that back in those days no one knew how to write and it was a mistake which was picked when he was enlisted to go to war.

I have since learnt that his real Father was Olindo Vicenzo Balducci born in 1893 and was married to My Gran mother whos maiden name was Dimasi. 1915 he went to war and never returned.

How can I find out the truth and weather I have family out there that I thought never existed,

Thanks Laura,

He states that his Fathers Name was Giovanni Santoro.

He was the only sibling with the surname Santoro.

I believe that his mother may have been from another marriage and if so he did not know.

I know that he had 7 other sibblings with the name of Santoro.
I have done a little research and have founnd that he was born to Olindo Balducci who was married to Maria Vittoria De Masi.
The only information is that Olindo Balducci was born on 06/08/1893.
I am hoping to get more information on him.

Olindo Vincenzo Santoro was born on the 4/03/94.
This person was the father of the other sibblings.

I need to know what happened to Olindo Balducci where he was born and if he had family in which I can possible find.

Can you please advice if there are any military records for Olindo Balducci born 6/08/1893.

He would have gone to the first world war.

No, nothing online, the best thing for you to do is to ask for Giuseppe's birth act to the town hall of Fabrizia...

You can get records on micro film of Registri dello stato civile di Fabrizia (Catanzaro), 1810-1910 from Family History Library they rent films for viewing and copying
