Gallerani Family

I researching the Gallerani side of my family tree and have found out that they are from the Emilia-Romagna region. I believe the main areas are Dodici Morelli, Cento and Modena. I know the area had several bad earthquakes and more recently flooding....I am trying to locate information on my great grandparent Giuseppe and Aurelia Gallerani. They immigrated to the states in 1891 and all their children were born in or around the Boston area. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Yes that is correct.

I would try to get their marriage record from Cento try the email first if no response in 30 days try postal according to the US 1910 census they were married around 1888-1889

Just to keep you updated I received an email back from the Comune di Cento Ufficio di Stato Civile!

Their reply was:
Buongiorno, provvedo in data odierna ad inoltrare la presente mail all'Ufficio di Stato Civile , competente in materia di atti e certificati di matrimonio.
Cordiali saluti.

If I am translating it correctly I have to forward my request to the office that is responsible for marriage certificates.

Hi Lucia,

My great-grandmother's second husband was Achille Gallerani. I didn't know him, but I grew up around his son, Alfred, who was one of the nicest men you could ever meet. He lived in Whitman and Brockton, MA. He gave me a great start in doing our family history. I knew he had returned to Italy multiple times, so I asked him where our family was from, and he told me Cento. I was able to visit there when my son was stationed in Germany.
