help with translation of death record

Post by misschristi16 »

I have this death record, top right corner.
Domenico Ciampa, son of Giovanni and Rosa Savone died in February, 1878. It states the 1st at the top, but, that is that the day of death? Also, it says Vito Nicola declared the death--is there any relation, I believe it to be Domenico's Son. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Domenico Ciampa, son of deceased Giovanni and deceased Rosa Savone died on 31st January, 1878, aged 81, widower of deceased Rosa Sarcinella.
Feb 1st is the registration day. No evidence about Vito Nicola relationship.

Sure seems to fit. Vito Nicola was born about 1838 from other records I have of my gggrandfather--so that is pretty close. Could possibly be the Domenico Ciampa and son Vito Nicola who I am looking for. No way to really know for sure until I find his birth record. Thanks for your help!
