Can someone please translate the occupation of the child's father from attachment birth record document ? Thank you.

possidente = property owner

Was he property owner of a business or home? If I'm not mistaken, I see a word "cantile" next to father's name information. What does this mean?

"Possidente" means that he was reach and did not have to do a specific job for a living
The occupation of Luigi Capozzi, the father of Fortunata, was "Capitano mercantile" = captain on a merchant ship
