DeFilippo family from Padua

Post by defilra »

I'm looking for information regarding DeFilippo family members that immigrated to New York in the late 1800s early 1900s. I've been told that they were from Padua, Italy. I have little information, but my Grandfather's name was Ralph and he was a barber by profession. He owned a shop on Bergen Street in Brooklyn, NY.

Marty,

Thank you for the information. This is the WWI draft registration of my grandfather. The residential address of 1405 Bergen St. is close to his business address of 1410 Bergen St., which I have proof of on his business card. The child is my father, who was born on October 11, 1915 in Monticello, NY. The Padua connection appears to be incorrect. How did your research path cross the DeFilippo surname?

Ralph

PS I sent a quick response and as a newbie I have no idea where it went?

Ciro was my great grandfather and his wife was Maria Annunziata. Ciro and Maria had nine children. The ninth child, Clelia, was born in the US and is shown in the 1910 cencus data as one year old. This is my father's side of the family. Marty, I see why you're at the Master level. We have joined Ancestry.com to continue our searches.

Thanks,
Ralph
