Re: LaBianca Birth Record
BIRTH RECORD NO 239: DONATO LABIANCA
Date of Record: 4 December 1893 10.15 a.m. Bitetto
Appearing was Francesco Labianca, 23, farmer, living in Bitetto, to declare that at 11.45 p.m. On 2 of the current month (December) at a place in via Gelfo, No 22, his wife Maria Giacoma Rutigliano, daughter of deceased Giuseppe gave birth to a male baby who was given the name Donato Labianca.
It doesn't give Francesco's father's name. If you don't already know who this is you should find it on Francesco and Maria's marriage record or.

Thanks for the tip! I found the marriage record here. If you could translate, that would be great.

Interestingly enough, I think I may see the name of my great-grandmother's father (Antonio Pascazio) in here? This would mean that my great-grandmother's father and my great-grandfather's father were friends....perhaps an arranged marriage was put together down the road? Let me know if you are seeing the same. Comparing the Antonio Pascazio from the Teresa Pascazio record, he was 38 in 1900, but this Antonio Pascazio is only 29 (I think) in 1893, so maybe they are different people?
Here is the Pascazio link I referenced:

Great find on the marriage record. I've had a quick look at this and this is what I see:labiancm wrote:Thanks for the tip! I found the marriage record here. If you could translate, that would be great.

Record date: 4 February 1893, 3.30 p.m. Bitetto
Appearing was:
Francesco Labianca, single, 22, farmer, born and living in Bitetto, son of deceased Donato who lived in Bitetto in life, and son of deceased Anna Carbonara, who lived in this town in life.
Maria Giacoma Rutigliano, single, 20, farmer, born and living in Bitetto, daughter of deceased Giuseppe living in Bitetto in life, and daughter of Deodata Pepe , living in this community.
Good spotting on the Antonio Pascazio (spelt Pascazio this time not Pascasio as in the previous records), aged 29 (so born approximately 1864), farmer. He was one of the witnesses. So the Antonio Pascasio married to Anna De Santis would have been born approximately 1862. There is not too much variation here in estimated birth years. It is not unusual to find variations in estimated birth years on these records, sometimes they are even wider than two years. It might be the same one, but then again it might be another Antonio Pascazio/Pascasio similar aged.
This is all I can make out at the minute. This script is a new one to me. I'll see if I can fill in the gaps. Be back later.
EDIT:
I have located this couple's marriage banns showing the mother's names very clear so have edited above accordingly. Both mothers had the profession of Filatrice - Seamstress, Cotton Maker/Weaver recorded on the Marriage Banns.

Wow - amazing! Thanks so much for looking into this. I've found some more information that makes me think the two Antonio Pascasio's are the same. There is a 12/1862 birth record in Bitetto for an Antonio Pascasio. I checked 1863 and 1864 and no similarly named Pascasio's were born. Given a 12/10/1862 birth, Antonio would have been 30 at the LaBianca wedding (but would have only been 30 for less than 2 months) Then, since Teresa Pascasio's birth was in 3/1900, that would have made Antonio 37 (not 38 until December) at the time. So his age was probably misrecorded in both places. I feel like a detective!
Would you mind translating Antonio's birth record? This is fun!

Indeed - it is lots of fun! I know what you mean about feeling like a detective. I think I've missed my vocation in life
Birth Act No 200: Antonio Pascasio
Date of Record: 10 December 1862, 9 pm, Bitetto
Appearing was Vitonofrio Pascasio, son of Giuseppe (deceased), age 40, villano (peasant) living in Bitetto, to present a male baby born to Lucrezia Albanese, his legitimate wife, aged 36, living with her husband. The baby was born on 10 December at 7 pm in their home and given the name Antonio Maria Donato. (The spelling of "Maria" isn't a typo. The name Maria was often given as a middle name to male children, I understand.)
On the right hand side it gives the baptism details. Antonio Pascasio was baptised on the day 17 of December.
