My guess is "Lentini", but it might even be something completely different!
Moreover, it's far from Tufo.
Do you know the exact surname of the groom?

I think you are right about the place being Lentace. I tossed between Sentace and Lentace when I first saw the document but I don't think there is such a place as Sentace. I see that there is a Lentace in Benevento, Campania - the same region as Tufo, Avellino.

I agree about "Lentace". I couldn't find it because I looked in Italian Communes, while it's part of San Martino Sannita.

You are welcome Donna. It took a while to find. I had a feeling it would be in one of the provinces in Campania and so brought up each of the provinces with their communes, and, like Pippo, found that neither names were included there. (I now understand why.) Then today I googled just Lentace using different wording and it finally came up third time round showing Benevento as the province.
