Death in Ferruzzano in the 1900s

Hello - I am at a loss as to how determine when my ancestor Pasqualina Viglianti passed away. She is my great great grandmother and she lived in Ferruzzano, Reggio Calabria. Last mention of her I find is on the arrival of her daughter to the United States in 1911 when she reports her mother as still living in Ferruzzano.

I don't have any records which would narrow the range of her passing. She was born 23 Mar 1856, daughter of Mercurio Viglianti and Columba DeLorenzis.

What are the laws for privacy of records in Italy pertaining to death records? Is there a good way to obtain information on deaths after 1900?

I am also interested in when her husband my GG Grandfather Domenico Marando died. He was born 28 Oct 1857 in Ferruzzano, son of Giovanni Marando and Paola Stilo. Again, no data to narrow the range.

Yes, but not for this - two reasons - I don't think they are yet available for years after 1911 which is last date I have confirmed for Pasqualina being alive. The other reason is that for this town, after 1865 the films are one per year, and it will be expensive to request each year.

If you request a document or documents from the Stato civile in Ferruzzano it is usually free of charge. Peter

To obtain documents without charge simply send an e-mail to commune.ferruzzano@gmail.com (notification of address sent from Ferruzzano to me) and forward a form letter which you can obtain from http://www.circolocalabrese.org and select genealogy for the form letter in Italian which you fill out with with English translation and wait qanywhere from 4-8 weeks. It should be shorter since the population of Ferruzzano is quite limited.
