Here is the manifest:
Antonio Lo Re Aug 15, 1913 Naples

line 13

http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 0148%2ETIF

http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 0716020443

Looks like he was going to a brother L? in Niagra Falls. I will see if I can find a census.

Here he is on the 1930 census:

Name: Antonio Lore
Age: 39
Estimated birth year: abt 1891
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to head-of-house: Head
Spouse's Name: Casimira Lore
Race: White
Home in 1930: Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York

Interesting, looks like he was married in Italy and the wife and child came over after him.

I will post the image later (or someone else can). Storm here and my internet in dying.

Dear Debbie and mfjp,

Thank you so much for your help!!!
I already had his shipmanifest but I never thought about census. That was awesome! Now I got his children's names, I guess I should check if they were on census. Thanks again!

That census record came from Ancestry.com - paid subscription site...

What happens when you click onto the blue link shown in the message... 3 posts above? Once the census comes up, you could download it to your computer... Let me know what happens.

Ok here... click this instead... http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/284/lore2uf.jpg

Dear mfjp,

I meant how I can get "different" census record...sorry I didn't explain enough. I didn't have any problem seeing the 1930 census list which you showed me. Since I got his children's names in that record, I wanted to research the children's record in more recent census so that I might be able to find Antonio Lore's grand children....I will try to subscribe Ancestry.com. Thanks for all your kind help!

Dear Debbie,

Thanks for names of Lore in Niagara Falls. Actually, Anthony Lore is my father in-law and passed away this summer. We don't know the other Lores so we should call them. Thanks a lot.

Dear Maria,

Thanks for telling me about census record. Anyway,it seems too much money to subscribe ancestry.com so I will search in other ways by telephoning Lore names as Debbie suggested me to. Thanks again.

Satomi,

If you need a census look up, post the information and someone will help you.

The most recent census is 1930. Other years are 1920, 1910, 1900, 1880 and further back. Anything after 1930 is not available due to privacy concerns, so its not a matter of the cost.

Did you mean that the Anthony Lore that I posted with the phone number and address was your father in law?

Hi Satome (nice name!)

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law.

As Debbie said, anytime you want some looked up through Ancestry.com, all you have to do is post, and someone will look it up for you.

Ancestry.com is pricey... but since I gave up cable TV... I feel that I've gained and saved $.. and would rather sit in front of the computer any day...

They have a 2 weeks free trial... but you'd have to surrender your credit card info... word of advice... don't start your free trial on a weekend...

Niagara Falls eh? What a beautiful area...

Dear Debbie and Maria,

Thanks for great advice about census and ancestry.com!

Yes, Anthony Lore in that address and phone number was my father-in-law. Our friend in Italy first thought that my father-in-law might be a grand son of Antonio Lo Re. It turned out wrong because of different great grandparents names. We will try to call Lore people in a phone book or yahoo people search.

We are going to Niagara Falls next week for Thanksgiving. (It is a beautiful place, indeed.) Hope we can find the right people for our Italian friend....

Thanks for all your kind help!

Satomi

How nice of you to take the time to help a Lore "cousin" from Italy. We often advise people to try writing to people with their surname in the town of origin in Italy, hoping for information on their family. Wonderful to see the same principle working in reverse.

We are here to help if we can. Is the Ellis Island and census record "your" ancestor or the ancestor of the friend in Italy? Perhaps we can find another clue if you have more information to share about the person being sought.
