Well, I found out some more info. My gg grandparents were Joseph Scozzafava & Maria Josphine Scerbo. Both were born in 1856 in Italy. They were married in 1878 and owned an Inn in Catanzaro. I also think they lived in Gimigliano. He died in 1887 and she in 1938. They had 3 children. Nicola Guisseppe, Frank/Francesco, & Rose/Rosa. I know that Nicola & Frank came to US and eventually settled in New Jersey. I don't know anything about Rosa.
I have looked in the phone book recommended previously and have found other Scozzafava's listed, but since I don't speak Italian - I don't think I'll have much luck. If anything sounds familiar or anyone has any other suggestions I'd appreciate it very much!
I have also found out my other gg grandparents were Emma Rose DiNato & Gaspar Guariano. They had 6 children: Joseph, Vincent, Sam, Charles, Stella (my g grandmother - m Nicola) & Frank. Emma was born in 1862, came to US in 1905,& died in 1953. Gaspar was born in 1860 and died in 1893 in Italy.

If your family lived in Gimigliano, the Family History Center has microfilm that you can order and rent for about $3.50 a roll. Here is the link for the film numbers, they go for the years 1809-1910.

My grandfather's name was Eugenio (Eugene) Scozzafava. He lived in Gimigliano where my father Alfonso (Alfred) was born on December 15, 1902. My father arrived at Ellis on September 17, 1920. If anyone has any more info about my Gimigliano ancestors I would really appreciate your responses.

I am searching for records for
Domenico Scozzafava b: 26 Feb 1897 d: 15 May 1983, and,
Serafina Fabiano, his wife, b: 24 July 1895 d: 16 July 1966.

Born in Gimigliano. They owned a farm. Many of the children emigrated to Canada and lived in the Niagara Region of Ontario. Niagara Falls, Welland, Port Colborne. Many of their descendants still live in the same cities.
