More information on Fortunato Santoro

Post by Jean Galata »

I'm sorry the attachment in the previous message was not that of Pellagrino Santoro as I said. It was the original attachment I found on Fortunato Santoro. The attachment hereto is the one I am questioning. It appears in the wedding records of his son Luciano (a/k/a Giuliano) in the year 1835. I can't reconcile that this is the death extract of Fortunato who was Luciano's father. Why would the name Pellagrino appear?

I am sorry, but the file will not print or attach. It is Immagine 20 at archivio di stato civile ella restaurazione Collepietro matrimonio and processetti/ 1835/1764
I know this is a lot to ask, so I hope no one is annoyed by my question.

Hi Livio, welcome back :D

Here's the link to the image that Jean is referring to:

I'm thinking that Pellagrino(sp?) must be Luciano's grandfather.

Grazie Angela!
Yes, Pellegrino is Luciano's grandfather, he died Aug 14 1784, aged 87.

Thank you very much. I wonder why the Extract of a grandfather's death would be included in records of a grandson's marriage?

Hi Jean,
It is not unusual for the grandfather's death record to be included in the marriage allegati, and it is a wonderful find for the genealogist, especially when it includes the grandfather's parents, taking you back yet another generation.

You might be interested in reading the following thread about processetti and allegati posted a while back:
