Difficulty Reading Name of Deceased Individual

Post by amasi3 »

Hello,

I am having trouble deciphering the name of the deceased individual in record 95 (the page on the right).
The parents are Raffaele Damiani and Angela Sabbatielo.
The deceased child's name ends in "stina" and appears to begin with an F?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would say her name is Faustina.

The vital records are online at the antenati site and the birth records start at 1809. Unfortunately there is no index so you would have to go through the records page by page to confirm the name. As you know, this is an 1812 death record, and she was three when she died, so her birth record should be there.

Hi again,

Just located the birth record for the deceased individual. Confirmed by the birth record, the name is FAUSTINA.
The child's full name, according to the birth record, is AGNESE FAUSTINA DAMIANI. Thanks Angela for your input, and to everyone who read the post.

Fantastic! We must have been posting at the same time. Thank you for coming back and confirming the name Faustina. The mark above the "a" was a little deceptive because it made look like an "i".

Angela :)
