I have traced my grandfather to San Roberto, Italy and everything seems to cloudy from there on. Can you help?

Porpiglia was a very common name in San Roberto. The churchregisters begin in 1807 (marriages) and 1857 (births and deaths). The civil state should begin in 1809. Before that date there is no hope or he should originate from somewhere else.
