Narrowing down my clues

Hi All,
<BR>I have a quick question. When unsure of the town your ancestors came from. In my situation it a toss up between 2 regions. The most
<BR>Populated with the name and the first names are the same as my ancestors. Can these thing be used in correct research?

only if you cannot use any other verificable source...for instance why don\'t you request a birth record for the same person from two different towns, if as you say both towns have same names but your guy has diferent birthdate. Peter
