Searching Calatafimi, Trapani, Sicily?

Post by sacesta »

Just in case any of you are searching for vital records in the comune of Calatafimi in the province of Trapani I have indexed the indices, so to speak. These indices are for the Chiesa Cattolica di San Silvestri Papa in Calatafimi. Two films in particular, #2015875 (battesimi 1740 - 1863) and #2015877 (matrimoni 1620 - 1910). What I've done is not 100% complete, but it should help you navigate your way through the film reels.

When I know the approximate date of the event I'm researching, I usually wind the film until I arrive at the date I'm seeking, often zipping right past the indices.

When seeking surnames in general, it becomes prudent to use the indices. Of course, finding the indices and becoming familiar with their structure is a challenge in itself. Hopefully, this information will be of use to someone.

Each of these indices is alphabetized by first (given) name.
