Surname Antonio

Post by mmicheal »

My great-grandparents show their last name as "Antonio" on all legal documentation. I've never been able to trace that surname back in Italian genealogy. I did stumble upon church records that showed their names when they first immigrated. My great-grandfathers anglicized name was Tony Antonio. I found him listed as Antonino Intogna. The problem is that I don't seem to find any history of the name "Intogna." Has anyone else tried to do genealogy on the surname "Antonio" and what Italian versions of names have you found associated with it?
