Last name help

Post by scraig32 »

I need help clarifying the following sentence. Specifically, I need help with the last names and who they refer to. Thank you in advance. I have translated as much as possible.

il giorno di sabato 27 aprile - testimoni il principe di Castelforte e la duchessa Massa - si unirono in matrimonio don Mariano De Stefani Falco, figlio del cav. Giuseppe, con donna Ippolita Perez e Napolitano.

On the sabbath day, april 27, witnesses the Prince of Castelforte and the Duchess Massa (Is Massa her last name or the name of where she lived?) united in marriage, Don Mariano De Stefani Falco, son of (what does cav. mean) Giuseppe, and Donna Ippolita Perez (Who does Napolitano refer to? )

Il giorno di sabato 27 aprile = Saturday, April 27
Massa = last name of the Duchessa
cav. = cavaliere
Peres e Napolitano = Double surname of Donna Ippolita
