Birth and Marriage Need Help

I need some professional help hunting down marriage certificate and birth certificate for my GGF Eugene.

Eugene Malandro or eugenio Malandra married to Angelina Ludovici around 1907-1910 possible Church: Christian assembly church

Lived at: New Castle, PA

Born Oct 2 1884
Casale Italy

Arrived in US Dec 15 1905 New York, NY

Croce di Casale - frazione di Comunanza in provincia di Ascoli
Corte di Casale - unione di piccole comunità con capoluogo il paese comasco di Canzo
Casale San Nicola - frazione di Isola del Gran Sasso in provincia di Teramo


Many of them happen to be close to my area however so let me know if I can give you a hand!

Malandra is a surname mainly found in the Chieti province in an area called Casalincontrada, which is obviously different to Casale, but perhaps the name changed over time?...Do you think this could be it?

And look on wikipedia it says that in the Abruzzese dialect it is called 'lu casale'. https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casalincontrada We've found it!

I did write the commune a couple of years ago and got a copy of birth certificate for Eugenio Malandra but I believe it is the wrong person. The person I received lived in New Jersey (I found his draft card) and my GGF lived in New Castle, PA (found both of his draft cards in US WWI and WII).

Icmor - I saw your website and it is very nicely done. Do you have any references from people on the site?

Did the comune send you a birth certificate for Eugenio Malandra with the birth date 10 September 1886 then? Did they look for a Eugenio born in 1884? I saw what I think was the passenger record for this other Eugenio he was heading to Pennsylvania with a relative called Nicola to stay at 20 Mulberry Street in Philadelphia the home of Fillipo D'Alessandro...so perhaps they did have some family connection?

They did not mention any other Eugenio Malandra. I basically wrote a letter in english - did a google translate and mailed it off. A couple of months later I received the birth certificate but I believe it is the wrong eugenio. Attached is what I received from the Commune.


I only found 1 eugenio malandra during my search Ellis Island records. I believe it is the other eugenio malandra as well based on the arrival date. My GGF has in his naturalization documents a different arrival date.

Fillipo D'Alessandro not sure on that name. I havent come across anyone yet but doesnt mean there isnt one.
