Marriage of Giuseppe Coppola and Caterina Amari

Post by scraig32 »

#61 Santa Ninfa 1871

I need help reading the date of the wedding. The groom was Giuseppe Coppola,29, his father Gaspare and mother Vincenza Prima (?) Bride was Caterina Amari,23, her father Grispino Amari and mother Antonia Trombino
Are the ages listed for the parents? And were they alive at the time of the wedding?

Thank you for your help.

Usciere is a doorman (uscio=door), mandamentale = pertaining to the local government.

Thank you, Livio. That's interesting.

(I've also seen Usciere translated as usher and bailiff? I did a little search on the word "mandamentale", but couldn't find a direct translation anywhere. I did see that in a document that I looked at, it related to "district" but I obviously misread this. The word in Sicly also "seemed to" relate to mafia territories? Anyway, we will go with what you have written here. Thank you again.
