New Jersey Birth Certificate that doesn't list mother or father

I have a great grandfather whose birth certificate from 1907 doesn't list his mother or father however we know it is well known who his mother and father were in the family. Does this ever pose a problem in establishing a blood relative connection when applying for jure sanguinis citizenship? If so - what can be done to legally etablish their relation to the consulate? I will be going to the Houston consulate.

I don't understand how a birth certificate could be missing a mother's name. Without proof of parentage, establishing descent will be impossible.

Are his parents' names on his death certificate?

Did you obtain this copy recently? Apparently, earlier issued NJ certificates did not include parents' names. Ordering a new one (long form) should fix this.
