How to write to Italia

Post by jjk_16_21 »

On Infobel Italy it has it listed as:

V. BOTTE DONATO
87055 S. GIOVANNI IN FIORE

is that how I should put it on the envelope or should I put it as

V.BOTTE DONATO
San Giovanni In Fiore, 87055
Italy

p.s: I have like 10 letters going out, so I want them to be correct

I was told to never put zip code at the end. Our postal employees may delivery it to US place, so 1 plus add line 3 ITALY

Don't forget to include photo ID, international reply coupon and sase.

An Italian address should always contain the CAP (Codice Avenimento Postale). Without the CAP the italian postal service often ignore the letter totally and put it as 'Unknown'.....

Addresses should be written thus:

Name.
Street name - Number.
CAP (ZIP Code) - TOWN (in capitals) (XX) (two letter province code in parenthesis)
ITALY

So an address on an envelope would look like this:

Franco Rossi.
Via Nazionale 58,
20199 PIOLTELLO (MI)
Italy

Hope that helps.
