Letto il presente atto agli intervenuti, l'hanno meco sottoscritto."

"said female baby is sent by me thru the declarant that I have instructed to do so, to the Hospice of Foundlings of the Annunziata, of this town, where I send a copy of this act to be delivered to the Offices of that Pious Place, with the baby, and the thing founds near her, consisting of a blouse, a corsage, a cap, a bandage and four white diapers.
I read this act to the people standing, who signed it, as I did myself"

My translation might not be fully comprehensible, as Italian of official documents of that time was very "twisted", and some words are not of daily use

Thank you very much, Sig Moccaldi. Yes, the formality of those records daunt me, but the calligraphy even more so. I once stared at a word for a long time until I could decipher that my great grandfather was a mugnaio.
My cousins thank you, too. This record is very appreciated in their family history and record of the first day on earth of their great-aunt.

Gratefully,
Marie Ann "Maria" Pavlak
Twenty years ago, I visited my grandparents' birthplaces in Aversa CE and Striano NA and highlights of Naples, Paestum, and Vatican City.
