On the same manifest I've found both
S Giovanni G, and Girgenti for a last residence
I can find San Giovanni (Gemini) in Agrigento on a map
and I can find old references to a Girgenti also in Sicily on Google, but no map...
Were these the same place?
Thanks! vj
Location Girgenti?
Re: Location Girgenti?
AGRIGENTO
This town which overlooks the southern coast, was founded around 582 by Greek colonists and named Akragas; the Romans later on changed the name into Agrigentum, then it became Girgenti and finally Agrigento in 1927.
