on an 1816 death act from Monaguto, the 17 yr old Vincenzo Iagulli is listed as "discepole" - disciple - does this mean or is that usually used as in student of a trade or as in religious vocation?

i will try pippo, the original record cannot be scanned (at least with the scanner at my family history center) because it comes out too dark and unreadable. i will attempt with my phone camera. thanks.
