Benedetto Castelli crime and prison record

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Benedetto Castelli crime and prison record

Post by ricbru »

Hello everyone,
a friend of my dad had his father, Giacomo Callotta from Trapani, that emigrated to US, several times.
On 1910 he left with a boy, Benedetto Castelli, from Santo Stefano di Camastra.
Giacomo Callotta was in charge of this boy, and he was bringing him to his parents in US, as requested from them.
My father's friend, son of Giacomo Callotta, told me that, as written on Giacomo diary, Benedetto Castelli killed two policemen and went to jail.
I wonder if anyone is able to find his crime or prison record.
I'm not able to find anything on www.blackshipancestor.com
But I don't know where and when it happended,
Thanks in advance,
bye Riccardo
