Maj. Gen. Constantino Salvi Genealogy

Post by Liberati »

Hello,

I am looking for genealogical information on an Italian Army World War II-era General named Constantino Salvi -born April 28, 1886 and died January 17, 1945 (in Flossenburg Concentration Camp in Germany). I am particularly interested in any information regarding his place of birth and ancestry. Salvi is a surname that shows up prominently in my family (my Salvi line is likely from the Amatrice area), so I’m wondering if I may have a familial connection to him -thanks!
Interested in the surnames Liberati, Altiero, and Gulfo. Also interested in Italy during World War II.

Salvi is a common surname.

Anyway I have found the place of birth in the list of italians interned in german camps:

It was Ravenna and this is the birth certificate

Thank you for looking that up! Yes - I also discovered recently through research that Salvi is a pretty common surname, and is mostly concentrated in Northern Italy. As General Salvi was born in Ravenna, I doubt he is a relative of mine as my Salvis came from the Amatrice area, as I indicated earlier. Thanks again for checking!
