Hi, please help us (Paula Musciotto) read a Birth record from Geraci Siculo. The online record is here.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613
It is the 1880 Birth Record for Antonio Musciotto #117 - 28 Nov 1880.
it looks like the baby was born about a month after the father died. Very sad.
I've attached a copy of the record.
Thanks
Gary

Birth Act No 117: Antonio Musciotto son of deceased Antonio, and of Maria Grazia Valenza
Geraci Siculo: 28 November 1880
Pia Glorioso, 24 yo, Levatrice (midwife), living in Geraci Siculo, reported that at 8 am, today (28 November 1880), in the house in Rua Parco, from Maria Grazia Valenza, donna di casa, wife of the deceased Antonio Musciotto, living in Geraci Siculo, was born a baby boy, who she presented and named Antonio.
Sorry, I'm having trouble deciphering all the words at the bottom. There is a reason why the midwife declared the birth in place of the mother, Maria Grazia Valenza, but I can not make out the word. It possibly just means that she was sucking the baby. I'll come back to it later when it might be clearer. I have really bad hayfever at the moment which is affecting my eyes, so everything seems a little blurry. Maybe someone else will be able to pick out the words.

Thank you. I'm naughty, I totally dislike taking anything chemical, (eventhough my son is a chemist?), and so I've been trying to go with natural things. For some reason the natural way isn't working so I think I need to briefly resort to some meds from the pharmacy. Ho hum.
Anyways, it's always a pleasure transcribing your records. Thank you for remembering to come back to the forum to acknowledge the work we do.
Best to you.

Thank you Angela ... we've been slow at our Family History Center in New Jersey. Usually I get a lot more Italian Ladies looking for their family history. Maybe things will pick up with the cold weather

BTW - You've already met Paula in that she emailed you directly to translate the 1st record we found about 2 weeks ago.

although with more records going on line all the time, they may also be looking at records on the internet in the comfort of their home. Having said that, I appreciate so much what the LDS have done, and are continuing to do, for the genealogy community, all over the world. I met a lovely couple recently, when I was visiting our national archives, and they were there continuing with filming. So interesting to talk to.

A pleasure Paula. I'm so pleased you are enjoying the journey and finding lots of records. It's a real bonus with your Death Records, that they include the reason for the death. You don't see this detail in many other towns.
