I assume you have thoroughly checked entry records into the USA like ellis island and have submitterdd for 81 to NARA for any entry into the USA thru any other portslike Boston, New Olreans, Philadelphis?? If not go to www.genealogylookups.com/narchives.htm for the form 81 passenger arrival record. You can also write to the Uifficio di Stato Civile in Sciacca for his birth records and the marriage record of his parents as well as a \"Family certificate\" Certificatop di Stato di Famiglia under his fathers name Gaetano Maniscalco provided you have hius year or date of birth. This certificate will give you all family members, births, deaths and marriages for his immediate family which includes Luciano. Peter

civil records go back to 1803 in southern Italy...Who told you the church was the only source of records for that period??? Birth, marriage and death records can be obtained from the Municipal archives in Sciacca. All you need is his full name and date of birth which is what you have so there is no problem. Go to www.italianancestry.com in part 3 seek olut form letters in Italian in order to request the document you want, Once you have the birth record you will probably get his fathers full name and Mothers full maiden name and figure 20-25 years at time of birth (was Luciano first child?). Wrikte to Uffcio di Stato Civile, Comune di Sciacca, Agrigento province, Italy. Include a self addressed envelope and five Euro or dollars .Peter
